Hi there!
I'm Nicola, a digital illustrator and graphic designer who loves creating for positive, adventurous, nature loving brands and people.

With my work I aim to inspire people to explore and celebrate the positive power of nature.
When I'm away from my desk, I can be found hiking across the North Downs, running the local roads, pottering around in my garden and encouraging ever growing collection of houseplants.

I am awe of the world we live in. From the tiny ant to the mighty oak,
I find inspiration in how nature is ever-present, resilient and constantly changing. There is a new adventure to be found every day, no matter how small.

That is not to say that our natural world doesn't need protecting. I aim to use my creative talent and skills to help support our natural world, inspiring people to see the beauty in every aspect around us. Protecting nature, enjoying it and encouraging it to flourish.
Cherish the natural world, because you are part of it and depend on it

My Career

Throughout my career, I have worked in branding and packaging design agencies across London. Creating packaging, branding, campaigns & illustrations for brands ranging from big FMCG global brands to boutique starter brands.
Some of the design agencies I have worked at are: Parker Williams, JKR and 1HQ. View my Linked in profile here

For some of my creations, I have been lucky enough to win a Silver award from Transform Europe for Best Use of Packaging in 2019 and have another design is currently shortlisted!

Having left the design agency world in September 2019,
I aim to share my creative skills and knowledge with
small businesses who hold the positivity of nature close to their hearts.

Sustainability

Sustainability is important to me, and I continue to work on how I can create and operate as sustainably as possible, looking at who I choose to supply my electricity, the stocks and printing processes used and how I package my products.

Being a computer based business, I take care of who I choose to supply my energy. Bulb is my current choice of supplier.

As a designer of greetings cards and prints, I am conscious of the stocks used and printing processes; whilst ensuring that the life of the product is not compromised.

My current suppliers of printers are Printed.com for greetings cards and postcards. I choose to print on their recycled uncoated stock, which allows some texture and a slight fleck whilst still achieving bright bold colours.

For giclée art prints, I use dstudio. I am in the process of choosing between their Hahnemühle Natural Line Range in either Agave, Bamboo or Hemp.

I continue to work on how I can create and operate as sustainably as possible. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please feel free to let me know.
